How to Nourish Ourselves?

How to Nourish ourselves?

Often, we are so desperate on how to nourish ourselves, not sure on how good or bad certain foods are. Should we stick to "paleo" or rather "low fat"?

Nourish Ourselves

We are worried about gaining weight while we eat, we feel guilty, eat while watching TV and try to balance our poor nutrient intake with expensive supplements. We completely lost out of sight that we have to eat to nourish our body, to meet our biological needs.

We are completely uneasy about how to nourish ourselves.

Food Indoctrination

There is so much indoctrination going on that we lost our feeling about what is good for us. Instead of choosing foods to nourish our body and soul, we decide what we eat, based on external rules and temptations like smell or advertisements.

As a consequence, we forgot to consider "real food", and to choose what makes us energized instead of sluggish. We prefer to eat fast, without preparation time, often on the go. But the Fast-Foods can't catch up with real nourishing food, not only because of the lack of nutrients or the high content in fats and sugar.

Waiting for Satisfaction

In fact, we wait for satisfaction and continue eating. We stop eating because the plate is empty or we feel stuffed, not because our eyes, soul, and taste buds are satisfied. Overweight is only one step away because we miss all measures on how much to eat while hunting the experience of real pleasure.

Which foods smell great and provide excitement for our tastebuds?

Starting to Cook again

Starting to cook again can be a great step for many of us. Choosing fresh ingredients, combining different colors, exploring recipes and spices can be such an exciting and mindful journey!

Finally, we have the chance to experience the process to nourish our body with all our senses. We spend more time smelling, tasting and experiencing the home cooked food which helps us to be satisfied much faster when we eat mindfully.

Simply by starting to cook again, you declare your independence from the culture of fast food.

As soon as you cook, you start thinking about ingredients.

You start thinking about plants and animals and not the microwave.

And you will find that your diet, just by that one simple act, that is greatly improved.
